“Grip it and rip it” on this reachable par 5. A large landing area left of the fairway bunker is the safe play. A long ball hitter should be able to carry the bunker. If you dare, right of the bunker is “birdie alley.” This small strip of bent grass fairway gives you a nice straight shot at the narrow but deep green.
A safe second shot will be short and to the right side of the fairway. Trouble can be found easily around the green. Any ball short and left will nestle into the unforgiving bunkers. Left or right of the green could send the ball bouncing into the pines and oaks. Vainglory is the most photographed hole on the course.
