Valley of Humility is the toughest hole on the back nine. It has been known to humble many players. Know the distance to the watery grave on the right and the bunkers that skirt the left side of the fairway. The further your tee shot, the tighter the fairway becomes. The slanting fairway will force the ball to roll toward the water. Be careful! If the green is not reachable, a safe place to play is short and left of the green. This firm green is partially tucked behind the lateral water hazard, so it’s better to be long than short. One of the smaller and flatter greens on the course makes for a difficult second shot but an easier putt. Amen!
